Ms. Sydney, Apprentice Guide

Ms. Sydney joined our Acton team in 2025 as a growing Apprentice Guide. She is an Oshkosh native and alumni of University of Wisconsin Oshkosh who earned two bachelor degrees in Biology and Psychology with minors in Spanish, Music, and Neuroscience. As a passionate learner she deepened her studies at UWO and earned a masters degree in Psychology with a Cognitive and Affective Emphasis. Ms. Sydney’s previous work history is rich with grit. She has held numerous managerial positions in retail, was the office manager for the Nursing Research Center at UWO, and even has experience as an expert barista. For the last two years she has been working in her field as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) in Oshkosh. Her work as an MHT focuses on supporting the psychosocial rehabilitation of children aged 6-18 who are considered to be at-risk. In her work, goals are paramount.

Ms. Sydney works one-on-one with learners to grow their abilities to form friendships with age-appropriate peers, recognize and learn social cues, improve conflict-resolution skills, and gain strategies for emotional regulation and boundaries. Ms. Sydney is a passionate life long learner and continues to play violin as a member of the Oshkosh Symphony Orchestra. She enjoys reading, drawing, painting, and photography and is excited to deepen her hero’s journey at Acton Academy Oshkosh!
